The Motoko Ghost NFT Collection was a project commissioned by DFINITY, of the artist Jon Ball of Poked Studio, in reference to the Motoko Ghost representing the Motoko coding language.
The collection was released November 2nd of 2021, being airdropped to users within the Internet Computer ecosystem, and real world attendees of the NFT NYC 2021 event.
In this distribution, there were approximately 7,000 Motoko Ghosts distributed to active DSCVR accounts, while the remaining 3,000 Motoko Ghosts were distributed to NFT NYC 2021 participants.
The Motoko DAO
$MOTOKO, a token distributed to Motoko Ghost holders, was available to be claimed from January 30th to December 31st of 2024.
The Motoko DAO leverages $MOTOKO as the governing entity of the Motoko Ghost NFT collection - managing canisters, royalties, and the direction of the project - utilizing an SNS framework.
